Should
of known by the time I turned 12 or 13 I would
be singing and entertaining when I got older,
Grew up the youngest out of five, you could say our
home was like the partridge family, everyone was either
singing or playing something, well I liked the singing,
I made my first twenty dollars on a train we took from
Vancouver to Calgary when I was 13, my mother insisted
my brother and I sing a song called Candida by
Tony Orlando and Dawn, well it was a hit!.. Everyone
started throwing money, till this day I'm
not sure how much was thrown all I know is I had twenty
dollars, that was good enough.
I
went out and bought me a guitar, since everyone else
in my family had one I guess it was the right thing
to do, My mother who grew up singing, (very well may
I add) and she loved the great music of Neil Diamond,
we listened to him every day, She always told me, when
you get older you're going to have a voice just like
him, people are going to love listening to you.
Well
as time went on I did what most kids did, learned to
play rock n' roll and grew my hair long, still listening
to the great diamond of course, well music at that time
was like a roller coaster and I was getting tired of
it, it wasn't till a few years later that I had my calling,
my girlfriend at the time invited me to birthday party
and at the party they were singing and playing guitars,
everyone having fun, then my girlfriend says "hey
you guys should hear Dallan sing Neil Diamond"
- so I get up and sing and the person who was having
the party asked me if I would like to be in his next
show with him, well I say sure, that's what started
the best time of my life, ever since then I've played
casinos, night clubs, charity banquets, you name it.
So
I would like to thank Randy Elvis Friskie for having
a great birthday and my girlfriend for inviting me,
even though its been twenty years since my mother passed
away I know she can hear me, I hope you enjoy the show,
and thanks to the great music of Neil Diamond without
you I wouldn't be here.
