Born
in Northern Ontario, Lori was raised in Langley BC and
started singing professionally at age 17, performing
in local nightclubs, first as a solo artist and eventually
fronting her own band, touring extensively across Canada.
Lori first gained recognition in 1989, when she was
honoured by the BC Country Music Association with the
Ray McAuley Horizon award as Most Promising New
Vocalist. Her first single, Up to No Good,
penned by Larry Wayne Clark, broke the top ten nationally,
and was nominated Song of the Year by the
BCCMA.
With the success of her first release, Lori appeared
on the Tommy Hunter Show, opened for Janie Frickie,
Mel McDaniels, Hoyt Axton and Don Williams, performed
with Tammy Wynette and reached the charts again with
her next two single releases, I Must Be Losing
My Touch and Another Rainy Day In My Heart
which led to a Canadian Country Music Association nomination
for the Rising Star Award . Numerous BCCMA Female Vocalist
nominations followed.
After touring in support of her debut album release,
One Night with You in 1995, featuring the
single Money Talks , Lori took time off
to start a family and has spent the last number of years
raising her daughter, performing at local festivals
and fairs, corporate special events, and honing her
writing skills.
In 2005, Lori joined forces with guitarist Dave Stang,
a veteran of the Canadian Country music scene, forming
her own band once again . She is currently booked to
perform at the 2006 Merritt Mountain Music Festival,
Ladner May Days, Aldergrove Fall Fair and numerous other
events throughout 2006, including appearances at local
pubs, clubs and special events, as well as working on
new writing and recording projects.
