Shannon
Lee is a British Columbian singer/songwriter and musician.
Originally
from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Shannon began her professional performing
career at the tender age of 14, singing and playing guitar
in a local restaurant after being 'discovered' in a local
talent contest. During high school, Shannon continued to hone
her skills as an instrumentalist by studying piano and guitar
and playing alto saxophone in concert and stage bands.
Over
the years Shannon has built up an impressive collection of
original songs. 'People ask me what style of music I write.
It's hard to categorize. I find that when I have my guitar
in hand the music tends to be country, folk or occasionally,
rock 'n roll. But when I'm at the piano, I seem to come up
with jazzy tunes and pop ballads. I have a lot of Canadian
female vocalist influences. Some of my favourites are Amanda
Marshall, Jann Arden, Terri Clark and Diana Krall.' Shannon
Lee has never been content to 'put all her eggs in one basket'.
She is a graduate of the University of British Columbia, Faculty
of Medicine and can be occasionally found saving lives in
the ER at Langley Memorial Hospital located in the Fraser
Valley, BC.
Shannon has recently teamed up with producer/guitarist extraordinaire,
Andreas Schuld, (Long John Baldry) to complete her debut CD,
'Kiss 'n Tell' which has just been released on the Indie label
'Inglewood'. Other musicians on the CD include: Guitarist/songwriter,
Colin Rankin (Russian Judge), Mike Sanyshyn, (fiddle), Brian
Scott and Brian Newcombe (bass) and drummers David Dutchyn
and Phil Robertson.
Shannon
is excited that several tracks from the album are being played
in Europe, Great Britain, Australia and South America as well
as on Internet Radio!
