Victor
Wells was born and raised in the Chicago area, where his musical
earliest musical influences were Chicago blues, jazz, The
Beatles and 60's rock & roll. At age fifteen, he began
to perform around Chicago in various rock and blues bands.
Since that time, his playing experience has ranged vastly
from television and theatre productions in Toronto, Chicago,
and British Columbia to Street singing in London and Paris,
as well as club and outdoor festival engagements across Canada.
In recent
years, Victor has divided his time between solo club work
and original music projects. He has also become an increasingly
in-demand studio vocalist and guitar sideman. In the mid-80's,
he was performing and recording with Victoria's Bad English,
an original rock/reggae/ska trio, that was popular up and
down the West Coast. From '86 to '88, he performed as House
Musician at Maggie's Revenge, an international known club
in downtown Tokyo. Since then, through located primarily in
Vancouver, performance and recording projects have taken Victor
to London, again to Japan, and across Canada several times.
As a
solo artist, Victor performs a wide variety of styles: blues,
R&B, contemporary rock, reggae, country and ragtime. A
strong vocal style as well as guitar playing versatility have
given VICTOR WELLS a solid reputation as an energetic performer
of North American music, past and present.
